There is simply no way to make any sense of the so-called trump presidency

Think about it - from the time we are young, we are taught (raised?) to be truthful. To be kind. To learn, to create, to be part of solutions rather than be part of problems.

We are on day one hundred twenty forever of one of those political disasters that thankfully only occurs once a generation or less - but here we are living it. From a candidate that flaunted his sexism, misogyny, and you name it inappropriateness to the utter mess we see daily now (if we dare to look). Nothing but an endless stream of lies - more than likely an election that was stolen - and seemingly, nothing that we can do about it (at least now - and though these things take time, people are being hurt).

Add to it events like tonight in England - a senseless terrorist attack - on young people.....

the country - the world - is looking pretty dark right now. We are screwing the earth, half of our country is emboldened to flaunt their hatred, seeking and intellect and learning is now something to be shunned and ashamed of. We are being dragged backwards.

Don't mean to be a downer tonight - but it feels like a pretty deep hole right now (and I am feeling this even though I am so thankful for my wife, my hobbies, my health, and my life) - to me, it isn't about us as individuals - the earth is an organism and we should all be in this together.

But this seems like a time where kindness and understanding are in short supply and not going in the right direction.

Peace, DU friends.

This country as seen dark periods before and we are still here.

Take a break from the news for a few days.

I went to big comic book convention for 3 days.
Just had the best time.
Turned off the phone.
Glad I did it.

Everything will work out.

Might take a few months but it will.

The Deplorables (Republicans) are days from cracking.

Look at the news, Fox has dropped to third and Colbert is right, the Republicans have stuck their heads in the sand and even refusing to watch Fox. So, IMO, we are close to winning.

But here is the catch, Liberals, by nature are kind, a good trait, but at this time we can't be kind to Republicans. We can be kind to all others but we need to go against our natural instincts and make them own tRump. Because tRump is a symptom, the disease is Republican hate. If they are let off then the hate will pop up again quickly. The only way to win completely is to drive their hate so far in that it won't come out again in our lifetimes.

Every damn republican president.
Cut taxes and increase spending.
This time the health care issue will create problems.
Town halls will get really nasty.

He sought my counsel and I would tell him what to do and he would do it.

I've had some pretty improbable fantasies over the years (many involve George Cloney) but this was the most far fetched by far. Trump listen to anyone?

I'm so ashamed that for a couple of days I thought it could work.

Will never happen.
