42. Trey is that kid in my class once

He claimed he read a medical textbook and was sure he could be a doctor. Truth was that he never finished homework, was flunking everything, and was always in trouble. He was dead serious and, being the teacher I was, I didn't like crushing dreams. We went through the facts of what it takes to become a doctor, how good study skills and habits would be important and I offered to teach him those skills. Nah, he said, I can just be one.
In the end for good ol Trey it will always be about leaks.
