It must be nice

to have a home
have a car and not have to worry about repairs sinking the family budget
to be able to take your children to a doctor when needed and not be unable to afford the co-pay
it must be nice to be able to have your children go to a dentist, which I never could due to finances
the pain of no dental care is horrible to experience your children suffering pain from that
It must be nice to be able to take a family vacation
it must be nice to be able to send your children to college
Oh yes, everyone worked in this family but not for living wages
my older child died due to having lack of funds to have her see a doctor (and she was working, not being paid enough
to pay office visit)
I have experienced a living hell most of my life mostly due to lack of adequate money despite working
Do any of you who have sufficient ever think about people like me? Do you even care?
Maybe like the House Speaker as he said if you don't have enough money for health care then just die (as my daughter did).
As to the recent statement by a Republican governor that no one has died due to lack of medical care
my response is I have had a living experience with that reality and you don't know what you are talking about. This country exposed me as a child in Pasco WA to radiation (Handord). In my later years 3 types of cancer were found in my thyroid. The scientist at the time I was a child knew damn well what harm could be done to the body. Your own country willing to expose you to radiation (human sacrifice). And you who get angry that I show no honor to this country wonder why? Maybe if you were in my shoes you might understand better.
I really don't think life is worth living, all the heartache, pain and striving to survive is not worth it. What did I ever
do to deserve such inhumane way of living? Apparently it was being part of the working poor. No wonder people don't work so they
can get what little medical/dental help from welfare.
Unfortunately I was born in the US, if I had been a citizen of developed Europe much of the health problems would not exist
Why do you let this inhumane way of treating the working poor exist in this country?

We might not be able to stop them from treating us like we're disposable, but we sure as hell can keep reminding them how profoundly heartless they are.

We need voices like yours.

You are not solely a victim of others. Staying in a town with no opportunity working at the same dead end job and complaining about it is not a way out.

I was you

And here's the thing I have voted my whole life to try to make it easier for folks in your situation. Even when I was in that situation. The idea people who have a car don't think about you is nonsense the whole democratic platform is supposed to be thinking about people in your situation.

For me I had to move I could not afford to live where I did. Then I had to get training in something that made a bit better money. Now I have a car and my bills are paid and I can currently afford my kids copay's.

I spent a whole lot of time dirt poor. Now I am keeping my head above water but a catastrophe could end all that pretty easily.

I don't think I ever blamed others of not thinking of me though even when I was dirt poor. That is what being a Democrat is about ..Caring for others. I think it is pretty unfair of you to assume others do so.

I did not have the money to move to a new town with 2 children in tow
A car is for transportation to work-if you can't pay for the repairs, even if you are working at a low page job, that is no solution
I had no money for training or for child care during training
Do not judge me by your experience, you may have had opportunities I did not
I blame the system that made it impossible to change my income
I went to school as an adult with no money for child care...I say now I'd sit on my welfare ass and take care of my children and not having them with no mother while I work at a low paying job and THEN going to school in the evening with no child care
Even my schooling did not get me into a living wage job
If this nation had a decent system like developed Europe maybe I could have made it.
I suppose being exposed to radiation by my country was my fault? I had no money to take care of that.
If enough "others" cared I would not have gone through what I did
Yes, I know there are people who care, it is damned hard to feel like they are the majority
I see the homeless every day on my way to work, where are the living wage jobs to pull them out of homelessness?
This concept that some people should lack basic human needs because they did not help themselves is ignorant of reality for many.

I'm sorry things are so tough, I'm also one of the Working poor. When I get fed up, angry, disCouraged, I always, somehow, find some One(or they find ME?!), in worse circumstances, & HAVE to count my Blessings.
& I am constantly awed by Karma. A reminder to keep my Heart in the Right place. I have no wisdom or solutions to share, only understanding & goood vibes. Do NOT give up, or give IN.

You are NOT alone. 💖
