3. I have faced two racism incidents in past 15 years even living in SFO bay area

1. One time, I was going out for lunch with my white colleagues while crossing road, one random person ask me go back my country, I told him politely, I am born here and I have no where else to go. I part did struck me, my white colleagues were silent and did not discuss the matter.
2. Second time shopping at whole foods, I was rudely pushed by a old white male and he said, all these guys and coming and occupying my country. I said same "excuse me", he just rolled on his cart...

Just today I was in store and this shaved head white guy gave me the stink eye. I looked straight back in his face and gave him my best "f" you look. He looked away quickly. I chuckled at his cowardice.

13. I agree with athena. No one will try anything if a large guy is around.

I used to work in a bank years ago as a lead teller and teller trainer. I had several young ladies under my supervision. Every once in a while, a customer would get nasty and abusive with one of these young tellers. I'm a pretty big guy; not tall, but broad-shouldered. I would walk up behind the teller and ask the abuser: "Can I help you with something?" He (it was always a he) would back down, mumble something like "No...nothing..." and slink away.

I would restrain the urge to shout after him: "You coward! You can yell and scream at this sweet young lady, but you can't do it to me?"

I hate confrontations, but I hate bullying more.

Bullies have the kind of animal cunning necessary for self-preservation. If they think anyone is strong and brave enough to stand up to them, they won't start anything.

But thank you for your determination to stand up for others.

9. These people are sickening. What is wrong with this country?

Yesterday, I was in a little Italian market right near my apartment which is in a very liberal neighborhood in a very blue city. The market is mostly staffed by Latin American immigrants. When I went up to pay after this older woman, the women behind the counter said to me "She scares us"! I asked why and they told me a few days ago that she started screaming at them for speaking Spanish to each other. They speak excellent English with the customers, but this old crank had a problem with them speaking their native language to each other!

I was kind of shocked to hear about such ugly racism in this neighborhood but I told them to report her and ignore her because most of us are disgusted by that kind of attitude and behavior. They did report her to management. I am not sure what the outcome is, but I hope she is banned from shopping there.

New York (CNN)Walmart says it will ask a customer to no longer shop at their stores after she was caught on video hurling racial abuse at other customers in Bentonville, Arkansas, on Monday.

Video posted to Facebook on Monday night that shows a woman telling one customer to "go back to Mexico" and calling another customer a racial epithet has been shared hundreds of thousands of times on the social network.

Eva Hicks, a mother of three, said she politely asked the woman to step to one side as she reached for medicine. It was then the woman became aggressive, Hicks told CNN.

"She moved back her cart and immediately started saying that people bother her on every aisle, and started saying more hateful things to me," Hicks recounted and then took out her phone and began to record the encounter.
