Just got an e-mail from this organization......what the h*ll is it?? AMAC??

.
Friends,

The big Republican win in November shocked the media elites. And shocked the political establishment of both parties. It was a wake up call, and now the fight to Make America Great Again is upon us.

One organization has been standing up for conservative values all along - and for working class Americans everywhere: AMAC. The conservative alternative to AARP.

AMAC has been fighting for smaller government, social security reform, and religious freedom from the day it was founded.

And while AARP was busy supporting ObamaCare, AMAC was opposing the bill every step of the way.

If you're over 50, we urge you to join the conservative army of AMAC members now. If you act now, a 5 year membership is only $59.95.

AMAC delivers the very best member benefits and discounts to its million plus members - on everything from health insurance to hotels to restaurants.

CLICK HERE to join AMAC online, or call 888-262-2006.

Join AMAC NOW. And be a part of this growing - and important - organization that fights for your values year in, year out.

Sincerely,

Hugh Hewitt and Dennis Prager

Oh, ok, I'm over 50, though I'm not an AARP member......wonder how I received this.

Political activities[edit]
AMAC describes itself as "vigorously conservative" and gained support from talk show host Glenn Beck and other conservative figures.[6] AMAC strongly opposes the Affordable Care Act (ACA)[7][8] and has pushed for its repeal.[4] In March 2014, AMAC claimed a membership of 1.1 million members, up from 40,000 in 2008, which it attributed to backlash over the ACA.[4] In a letter in 2012, the group falsely claimed in a letter that "If you and I fail to defund ObamaCare now, some 16,000 new IRS agents will be begin prying into our private medical records, eyeing each and every one of our treatments and prescriptions for 'violations.'"[2] This debunked claim was rated "Pants on Fire" from the fact-checking publication PolitiFact.[2]

AMAC supports a plan for Social Security which would gradually increase the earliest retirement age to 64 (from 62) and "guarantee cost-of-living increases in a tiered structure based on income."[4] AMAC supports the oil and gas industry, claiming that they "are safer for the environment than ever." The group's president, Dan Weber, called for a rollback of Obama administration policies to promote clean energy.[9]

The AMAC has a volunteer "delegate" program, aiming to select a AMAC member in each congressional district across the country to meet and lobby members of Congress.[10]

In February 2017 AMAC issued a warning to the upcoming 2017 Academy Awards ceremony to not tolerate speeches against President Donald Trump, threatening to launch a boycott of theaters.[11]

Political analyst Josh Bernstein is currently a National Spokesperson for AMAC, whom sponsor his weekly political talk show. [12]

(I can't post the link for some reason, but google amac to find it)

You'll find many complaints, as well as this post from the moderator:

I have removed several posts complaining that AMAC did not meet there expectation and they will be signing up for a competitor company.

Now we value you opinion and this topic here is to help AMAC help it's members NOT to promote a competitor company. If you are unhappy with your membership and have a SUGGESTION place it here, I personally will try to have the issue looked at and taken care of.

This is no place to promote another organization all posts of the sort will be removed and the user will be warned. Continued posts will lead to a banned account.

The grammar, punctuation and spelling in this "official" post ought to scare away old folks who grew up learning to diagram sentences.

Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) is a United States-based conservative advocacy organization and interest group, founded in 2007. Its president and founder is Daniel C. Weber, a retired insurance agency owner.[1][2]

AMAC is a membership organization for people age 50 and over.[3] The group calls itself "the conservative alternative to the AARP."[2] It is one of several organizations to position itself as conservative rivals to the AARP; others include the American Seniors Association and 60 Plus Association.[3][4][5]

In 2014, the group was reported to be based in Lady Lake, Florida.[4]
