1. If it wasn't Roswell, it would have been something else.

Conspiracy nuts don't really need much to get them going.

At least Roswell, NM gets to cash in this by fleecing some of the loons.

2. My family from Corona, NM verified the story.

They are related on the other side of the family to the people who owned the ranch where this happened. They knew the people involved, including Mac Brazel, and said they were honest people who should be believed. My cousin said almost everyone in and around Corona had experienced seeing strange stationary objects light up the sky for years. Something happened in Corona in 1947.

As a private pilot and sailor, I've seen plenty of lights that make no sense to me. However, I also know that I have no point of reference to judge speed or distance. Therefore, when someone says a light was moving fast or being stationary, they really can't know.

One time what looked like a stern or mast light moving towards me turned out to be the planet Venus.

Unidentified Flying Object doesn't mean anything but unidentified. Jumping to the conclusions of aliens is not logical.

That is a long way from believing that those intelligent beings are visiting Earth.

...doesn't mean that they aren't.

As for implying that people who do believe are "nuts" and "loons"...

Stay classy, sport.

Milky Way galaxy. 50 sextillion such planets in the universe (give or take
a few). It would be highly presumptuous for humans to believe that there
is no other intelligent life in the universe, or, given the astronomical number
of such planets, that there are not some that are much more evolved that
we earthlings.

"But...us humans are so dumb that we can't tie our own shoes unless the aliens taught us!"

A guy at MUFON lamented the fact that with the proliferation of cell phone cameras, the numbers of UFO pictures is going DOWN.

Even the ones that do come out are photoshop fakes, (either the photographer admits they are fakes or they don't,) or the usual wobbly picture of a blob of light.

But George Adamski still is believed for his Venus chicken brooder flying saucers.

The "Face On Mars" is still believed in.

Barney and Betty Hill still have their wild tales recounted, and added to.

... Bigfoot, the Incas and Trump's hair. None of those things could have existed without interstellar assistance, right!?

And the meme with the guy with the hair? He'd be nobody if it weren't for ETs, Greys (or is it Grays - I can never remember), and busty women from Venus. How could that shit be made up?

And, you've obviously never seen "They Live"? You probably always have plenty of bubble gum.
