He is balls deep in this Russian thing, but if/when 45 goes, unless Pence is IMMEDIATELY removed with him (which won't happen), Pence will be picking his veep, and THAT person will be the next POTUS.

Even if we drag this out unto 2018, Pence is *STILL* going to get to pick his own veep.

13. Well, an outside chance of a loophole

If/when Pence ascends to the POTUS spot he nominates a person to take his VP slot. That person needs to be approved by a majority vote of both houses of Congress. If the Dems can gum up the works long enough to get Pence out before a VP is confirmed, then I'm pretty sure the Speaker of the House ascends to POTUS if/when Pence goes.

Theoretically, if it took till mid Jan, 2019 to do all this (and I hope it happens way sooner). The Dems could take the House in the '18 election and the Speaker who would move into the White House would be a Democrat.

to confirm. So the House really appoints the new VP.
