There have been three presidents I've despised...

They are Ronald Reagan, Bush II, and of course, our current president. My middle finger does an automatic salute whenever I hear or see them. Reflexive.

BUT, with our current president, this is the first and only time in my adult life I have despised the people who voted for him.

Is this a first for anyone else?

And when the time comes, let's give Mike Pence a chance. He may prove the be the worst ever, even worse that Donald Trump.

I cannot imagine that Scott Walker would be any better than Trump if he had been elected. And he would certainly be stunningly corrupt and abusive of his power.

There is so much focus on Trump that some people forget just how evil some other Republicans are.

"Trickle Down Theory" and the Pubs are Still hooked on it! His actions started the war on our unions (the air traffic controllers), eliminated the interest deductions for all the smaller taxes that helped out the little guy (department store credit cards) & many other smaller deductions the average earners could use if they kept good records. Many of the things he did are still in effect today. That IMO makes him the worst prez just because of the longevity of his changes,

The actual results of the Con administration is yet to be seen. It's still way too soon,

He is before my time too.

I always hated Reagan. I never hated another president as much until Trump came along. That goes for losing candidates too, like Dole, McCain and Romney.

Ironically, I sometimes feel like I am less hard on Trump compared to other people on this board because I won't stop attacking James Comey. I am frightened by how many people are glossing over his actions. The fact that he doesn't like Trump, and is willing to investigate him, does not mitigate what he did. Repeatedly.

And, yes, gender issues played a huge factor in this election. It wasn't so much that people were saying "you're a woman so you don't get the job." It was about a woman not having the same ability to push back on smear campaigns and attacks, which meant there was no limit to how far they could be taken.

I had no use for Reagan, either; but Nixon and Bush II had me yelling at my TV on an almost daily basis. I even kept the little black & white portable TV I watched Nixon's resignation speech on for some 30 years as a sort of souvenir. I couldn't quite bring myself to loathe his voters (many of whom wouldn't admit having voted for him after Watergate) because a lot of my relatives were among them. My great-aunt, who had a sort of a shrine to him in her living room, continued to insist he'd been framed.

Reagan voters annoyed me but in those days Republicans were considered "normal" (though by the end of Reagan's second term they seemed to be a good deal less so). People who voted for Bush the first time were annoying because so many apparently voted for him because they thought he was someone they'd like to have a beer with. My own parents liked him because he seemed (to them, not to me) like "a nice guy." After the second election, though, Bush voters started to piss me off because they didn't seem to get what a big fuckup Iraq was - or the fact that it was based on lies. McCain voters pissed me off mostly because it didn't bother them that Sarah Palin would be an old man's heartbeat away from the presidency.

But Trump voters? A whole 'nother breed, and a whole hell of a lot of them. I can't even comprehend why someone with two brain cells to rub together would vote for someone so galactically unqualified and personally reprehensible. Stupid? Ignorant? Racist? Just mean? All of the above? I'm still gobsmacked.

And that kind of lessens the hate for me, seeing as they grew up with a television, and Madison Avenue, using Edward Bernays propaganda model, would be more inclined to vote in dime store John Wayne, and not really think about the potential drawbacks to doing so, since they'd been groomed to listen to marketing from childhood. Of course there were the Dominionists, Prosperity Gospelists, racists and other kooks, but he did get a high number of union members and Democrats who saw him as a pleasant grandpa version of the Gipper.

as he is the one who started this stupid obsessive hating of and wanting to decimate the federal government (all the while those states who hate it the most are sucking in the most funds from the feds). Remember his wanting to make the federal government the size of a postage stamp! Now, anytime the Repugs want to get their minions to support screwing the poor, minorities, women, etc. and give huge tax breaks to corporations so they can cut social programs, all they have to do is couch it in terms of a "gubbermint" program or what "the gubbermint" wants and the lemmings will scream about how bad whatever program it is. Whenever he would be on TV with his fake sincere actor voice, I would mute it.

Superiority of the wealthy and white superiority also came back in fashion under Reagan.

What really gets me is how the RWNJs idolize Reagan, especially for being so tough on the Communists/Russia (puffing their chests out and getting tears in their eyes when they see a clip of "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall&quot , yet show their absolute hypocrisy by completely looking the other way when the Russians put their own pawn in the White House!!!

About a week after tRump's inauguration, I thought to myself "am I going to wear out this mute button" since I had used it so much in just the first week of this miserable administration!

Of course, this new guy sets a whole new standard of low.
