..it is hard to prioritize them.
Which ones are the most important? Which ones might be simple diversions?
It seems like the biggest story of the day is the recruitment of Manafort and Flynn by Russia, to influence Donald Trump? After all, they knew Donald Trump. They most likely had a psychological profile on him? He had associations with Russia since about 1987, so they knew each other fairly well, one might assume?
It appears they were successful in putting their "agents Manafort and Flynn" into position. Flynn was able to get appointed as Donald Trump's National Security adviser. What better position to be?
Manafort was very instrumental in getting Donald Trump the nomination. The Russians were probably very proud of his accomplishments? In his time as Campaign Manager for Trump, he was able to get the GOP platform changed at the RNC convention in Cleveland. They dropped out the language about helping the Ukraine against the Russian forces in Eastern Ukraine.
So, they succeeded.
Unfortunately, for the Russians, but fortunately, for us, Flynn was careless and was overheard talking to the Russian ambassador on the day that President Obama put sanctions on Russia for interfering in our election. The FBI had the recording. Even then, it took 18 days to get him out of the National Security position, and it likely took all the persuasive power of the Republican Party to get Trump to drop Flynn?
But, the most disturbing part of this story, in my eyes, was when Trump invited the Russian Ambassador and the Foreign Minister into the White House, along with a camera crew from Tass, the Russian News Agency. It has been reported that he gave them the most secret of our Top Secret information?
They succeeded.
In my opinion, both Manafort and Flynn should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We, the People, must show that there is a price to pay when you attempt to attack our country in such a way. Russia would be exposed and would have to pay a much larger price than Putin ever imagined - the sanctions would be more harsh than ever.

(111,094 posts)..was on the Ari Melber show yesterday and talked about something very interesting. He said that people tend to discount and disbelieve stories that are happening as a "first occurrence". They always sound so incredible that no one believes them. When there is no precedence, there is a lot of doubt about stories. This may be one of those "first occurrence" stories?
