"Are you illegal?" A policeman's question to a Honduran who had just been run over by a car
A 31-year-old undocumented Honduran bicyclist, Marcos Antonio Huete, was hit by a car in Key West (Florida) on his way to work. The policeman's camera shows him inquiring about the victim's immigration status before offering medical assistance. He was later detained by the Border Patrol.

(1,697 posts)A cop should be celebrated for NOT asking an accident victim his immigration status? Shouldn't that be the default? The right thing to do - provide assistance then check status?
Celebrating a cop for doing the right thing is like giving a kid an award for participation, IMO.

(And telling other cops not to watch Fox and listen to RW radio, because conservative media lies to them and tries to incite hate in Americans.)

they've lost their humanity, it's a sickness infecting this country and afflicting many. no empathy, no caring for another human being unconditionally because after all we are all in this together aren't we?
