A lengthy probation can often end up in serving much longer in jail. If you get a 90 day jail sentence, you are done in 90 days. If you get 5 years probation and violate before completing, you serve the rest of probation in jail. (Not sure if it works that way in that state.) The court system does this all the time to screw people for minor charges. How many can afford to miss work for 90 days or even 30 days and not lose everything?

And THEN he should do time!
He should also face a civil lawsuit by the reporter.
