KS Congressman accuses town hall attendees of being UnAmerican. Attendees respond.

Kansas Congressman Roger Marshall took to American Family Radio on May 12, 2017, to explain that most of the problems in his town halls were caused by people who were “paid protestors” and were UnAmerican.

Marhall’s assessment boiled down to this quote:  “We still salute the flag. We still pray when we get the chance. We pray before ball games. And Wamego was the exception.”

The implication that Wamego residents are in some ways bad people didn’t sit well with attendees.

"Roger Marshall just slandered me in the press. He did the same to almost everyone in attendance at his recent town hall meeting in Wamego. Speaking to American Family Radio on May 12, Marshall accused us of not being from his district and said we were paid to be at the event.

I wasn’t paid to attend. I’m a poor graduate student that sacrificed time out of my own work and spent several days researching my question because I thought talking to my representative would be helpful. But when I asked it, he rolled his eyes at me and then made false accusations about me to the media. I knew most of the people in the room – they were not paid and they have been living in his district for years, as I have."

It's not their repugnant political stances, it's not their repellent personalities, it's not their murderous legislation and votes, it's not their hyperpartisan chip-on-the-shoulder attitude, it's always someone else's fault that Republican officeholders are unpopular with constituents.

If this is who represents you, Kansas voters, then keep re-electing Roger Marshall. But if you're better than this whiny, petulant, belligerent jerk, see if there isn't someone else in the district who would do a better job for your.

If he thought it wouldn't work he wouldn't have tried it.

what they voiced at meetings.

However, this congressman and others are really paid, by lobbyists, by SuperPacs, etc. but they maintain that these payments don't influence them.

Funny too how so many Republicans got money directly or indirectly from Russians but they consider Americans at Town Hall Meetings unpatriotic. You couldn't make this shit up.

What does that say about the Tea Party people who protested the ACA back in 2008 & 2009, disrupting town hall meetings all over the country??? Were they equally UnAmerican? I seem to recall the Republican Party was thrilled by the Tea Party pushback. Tea Party patriots were fighting for Liberty and Fre-e-edom, members said while thumping their chests.

The hypocrisy is stunning. Poor wittle babies ). Love it when politicians can dish it out but can't stand the heat when the tables turn. They own this with all the blathering about how they could solve the healthcare issue. Eight years of blathering and they've got nothing but huge uninsured numbers.

They can eat it!
