He may flipped off Trump and crushed his hand - but that would only be counter productive.
Trump is a small man with a big ego.
And he loves to take revenge more than anything else if he feels slighted.
There is a lot at stake ..not the least of which is the paris accord .. And the mature minds need to be aware of that when dealing with a thin skinned oaf with a lot of power to do damage.
So I am not cheering Macron's fucking with Trump.

(11,730 posts)You need to understand the Trump will lie to get certain people to like him and follow him, but he is on the side of the wealthy. He was never thinking about remaining in the Paris Accords. If we get there it will be state by state, lead by California until wealth is made by betting on clean energy. Trump has nothing beneficial in his mind for anyone but himself and people who he can profit with.
A handshake was not going to affect him in any way except maybe to cause a tantrum.

(58,785 posts)Macron SHOULD fear rump. Not at all? France is a major advanced nation. The only real danger is of having to shoulder some of our burden in the world as we abandon it. They smiled for decades as we paid through the nose and in blood for the privilege of posturing as the world's sheriff, and they didn't, but there were costs for them too.
In any case, I have no doubt in the world that the French in general are pleased with Macron for this, and the support of his people are what matters most -- by far -- to a newly elected leader.

When a fucktard like him leaves normal social behavior behind I think it is best to give it back and watch the inner baby come to the surface.

(12,344 posts)In Trumpworld, Macron established dominance over him, so he is actually more likely to stay in the Paris Accords and back down on NATO than before, just like he didn't back out of NAFTA when Mexico and Canada stood up to him.

(5,272 posts)have to dump him. He's not going to be able to make us isolationist without pissing off all of the actual power brokers in this nation, so the less legitimate he looks in the eyes of the world, the less legitimate they are going to make him look to the American people here via our own media.
He's going to have less and less power to be effectively vindictive if people around the world stand in solidarity against him.

Rumor floating around on the Twitter is that he's pissed off Germany and their IC is ready to do something about him (no, not that way). It wouldn't be unthinkable that they have damning information on him if the Steele dossier is any indication of Euro Intel.

Knowing that so many foreign intelligence agencies knew about what was going on before we did, just adds to their disgust in Trump, I'm sure.
And then he nudges out the newest member of NATO, Montenegro!!
Honestly, I cannot believe we haven't heard about more dead people in the United States, then reported in Russia.
