(16,858 posts)And in mailers through the post office. I'm in a bit of a different situation as a physician and prior service in the Navy, but I've certainly seen an uptick in the amount of ads and mailers lately.

(11,119 posts)You don't the whole bonus at one time - the Army doles out the bonus in increments. A soldier would get half of their bonus on the first anniversary of their enlistment - if the soldier has successfully completed basic training, passed a PT test and completed their AIT. The balance of the bonus ($20k) would be doled out on each successive anniversary of enlistment ($4k per year) provided the soldier is not overweight, is not in trouble and has passed a PT test...
