What is wrong with people? Teacher gives "most likely to become terrorist award" to student.

A Texas middle school principal plans to launch an investigation after a 7th-grade student was named “most likely to become a terrorist” in a mock award ceremony

“I was shocked,” Lizeth Villanueva, a 13-year-old student at Anthony Aguirre Junior High in Houston, told Click2Houston. “[The teacher] said, ‘Most likely to become a terrorist,’ and she said my name, and she gave me this.”

Lizeth received the award in an advanced learning program that’s supposed to help kids prepare for college. The teacher, who was not named, told the students the award was supposed to be funny, but Lizeth’s not laughing.

“It was not a joke,” Lizeth was quoted as saying. “I do not feel comfortable with this.”

A Good White Texan wouldn't ask those types of questions and I'm sure she was pre-judged and was thought to be "Muslin".

While extolling the virtues of their state, Texans continue to provide easy material for their own ridicule. Look out Florida, here comes Texas!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeehaaawwwww.

I've read of some other so called awards that were hurtful and nasty given to students as a so-called joke.

Somewhere we have lost our common sense, our consideration, our compassion.
Now its hip to be insulting, hurtful, vicious and hateful

The whole damn faculty should be investigated.

And the teacher should be fired.

Out of a cannon.

Straight into a black hole.

But seriously, it takes a really horrible mind to think this could be a joke to tell to a middle school audience

As teachers, our job is to build these kids up, not make jokes at their expense. I teach and I use a lot of humor in my teaching, but it is never directed at running down a kids self-esteem

I would have told them that I couldn't accept because Duh Vos had already won that award.
