The desert SW anyway. Swamp coolers on flat roofs, stucco. Saw lots of kids like this when I was stationed in El Paso. Had a group of Fathers gang members follow my wife home when she busted one of their members shoplifting. Little did they know that I had worked with a high ranking member of this gang at a side job and played basketball with his little brother and him on Tuesdays. We had no problems with them because of him.

Alone, this is how most are, kids with over worked parents or worse that are scared shitless of life, not some hard assed cholo like Eddie was. In a group, they can be very dangerous as each one tries to impress the others with their bravado.
