The quiet, well educated, nicely dressed, "moderating" influence was actually the one peddling influence to the Russians! He was so blatant and corrupt that even Kislyak was taken aback. And I doubt much rattles that guy. Wonder if Kushner pushed Flynn and Manafort on his mentally incapacitated FIL at the behest of the Kremlin? Neither were the obvious choice for anyone other than the Russians.
Jared has quite the family story. His father disgraced the family and went to jail. Jared wants to avenge the 'wrongs' that were done to his father and make the family name great again!!! He marries the daughter of another real estate psychopath and tries to be a big wheel in NYC real estate. To prove how bold and badass he is, he makes a bunch of risky real estate investments but he overpaid and they don't pan out. So did he get in deep with the Russians trying to sort out his money issues and end up selling the Presidency to the Russians? Whoa. That's a story.
Who's playing Jared in the movie? I forget.

(11,243 posts)He clearly has some sort of dementia. He is hugely dependent on his children and is so easily manipulated. I have no doubt he is in the Russian's pocket, but Kushner could have easily been pulling the strings while the press TOTALLY gives him a pass because he looks nice.

(115,589 posts)SCROTUS doesn't have enough of an attention span to be a mastermind, but with Jared as his most trusted "adviser," they engineered some kind of deal with the Russians. SCROTUS is in hock to the oligarchs, too; has been for years, as Uday and Qusay have admitted. If Jared goes down his father-in-law will go down with him.

(11,243 posts)When DT got overly anxious or tired, Kushner was the one who talked him down. We already know he is a big player in the endless WH drama. But now it looks like he could have been RESPONSIBLE for much of it. No doubt that Trump is also dirty, but not sure he has the mental capacity to do much at this point.

Although he may need to re-acquaint himself with such underwear. At least the Feds will only put him in jail.

(115,589 posts)Looks like Jared is getting pretty close to being caught. So even if he's the mastermind because he has a longer attention span than Dolt 45, he might not be a very competent mastermind.

(11,243 posts)He THINKS he is brilliant, because he is so entitled he doesn't realized that most of what he has was given, not earned. When his 'brilliant' and (overly) bold business deals don't pan out, he either has to face his own failure and heap shame on his family all over again, just like dear dad, or do.... something. Which very well could have been treason. One thing leads to another when you are rich, unethical and not as bright as you think you are....

Also, hey, Steele Dossier, bottom of page 8, mentions that the dft crowd had no worries about Russia rumors, because that gave them cover for their $$ adventures with China. Jared's no stranger to financial escapades w/China, I hear...wonder if the Kush/China bidness will ever be revealed?

Kushner is an opportunist. as is his sister who was in China recently using his connections to sell $500,000 investments in the family business.
I think there is no American mastermind-the mastermind is Russian.

(11,243 posts)Trump has ties to Russia, sure. And there is certainly dirt there too. But Russia would not want him directly involved for obvious reasons, so was Kushner the go between? He has HUGE influence with DT but is basically a cipher in the press. I read his voice had some sort of calming effect on Trump. When he got overly anxious during the election, the reports were that Kushner would just talk quietly to him calmly for long periods of time in on the plane and Trump would chill. But Kushner never talks TO the press, so I have no idea what his voice even sounds like. That is so spy-like in itself. The guy on the margins who doesn't talk much but pulls all the strings. He would be the perfect go between.

How much do you want to bet.... the deal with Pence was that
When 45 stepped aside, Pence would tap Jared as his VP.
Wow. Now the whole fucking thing makes sense...
