'The Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Friday called for President Trump to fire his son-in-law Jared Kushner from his position as a White House senior adviser in light of reports that he attempted to establish a private communications channel between the president's transition team and Moscow.
"Trump has no choice but to immediately fire Kushner, whose failure to report this episode on his security clearance is reason enough for a criminal investigation," DNC deputy communications director Adrienne Watson said in a statement.
"The next question is whether the President authorized this, because no one stands between Trump and Kushner on the chain of command.'>>>

(90,764 posts)nor prevent any potential prosecution.
None of that be fired or quit and it all goes away bullshit.
A lot of people have tried to excuse Kushner's actions by saying he didn't know better, he's a novice, he didn't understand what he was doing, he was hoodwinked by the Russians, etc..
I've been watching news and several guests have put forth that bullshit excuse.

(6,916 posts)Someone leaked it.
It was a call intercept. It was most likely NSA that intercepted it. So FBI or NSA are the most likely leakers.
These leaks being reported every weekday evening are intentional. The FBI and/or IC is trying to control the media narrative. That is big.

(25,242 posts)Will they be pulled into this? How can the Repugs come out of this whole treasonous scandal and still be in control?

(15,805 posts)Trump certainly won't do anything. The only possible hope is that the FBI will revoke Kushner's security clearances which would effectively bar him from the WH and most government functions, and if he can't perform his job then he doesn't have any reason to be there. Sessions sure won't pull his papers, but he's supposedly taken himself out of all things Russian, so barring a turf war, that leaves it up to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to get Kushner out of the government, pull his passport, and let the investigation go on to its conclusion.
