What one word comes to mind
There are a lot of words that come to mind about this whole Trump scandal. Corruption, greed, traitor, treason, arrogance, hubris, evil, liar, naccissist. But the one word that best sums it up for me is "stupidity." The sheer stupidity of thinking that you could flout 200+ years of laws and traditions of our democracy. The astonishing stupidity that you could insult the FBI and CIA without revenge and retribution. The sheer stupidity that regular citizens could not eventually catch on to your lies. The sheer stupidity that educated, professional, well-exerienced career and patriotic fed employees would not be horrified at how you gutted and trashed programs that they spent years developing and serving people. The sheer stupidity of not knowing that our FBI and IC wouldn't surveil Russian interactions. The stupidity of not understanding that prosecutors know how to perform forensic examination of bank records & investment accounts. The sheer stupidity of not knowing that American journalists covert a Pulitzer Prize for reporting your criminal acts.
The sheer, astonishing STUPIDITY of it all. Drinking a bottle of rat poison is less stupid than what the Trumps have engaged in.
Well it is my hope and prayer that the debacle of this filthy, corrupt, treasonous stupidity - when we get the bums finally thrown out - will result in a great American renaissance of virtuous honesty, truth, and common human decency. Let the Trump fiasco be a great object lesson for our democracy.
