Were the Russia sanctions a dogwhistle for corrupt Trumpists?

Sort of an inaudible alert to the rest of us - but I gotta believe some of the nuances of the sanctions must have targeted Trumps interests/assets - forcing them to all these little "hey - it'll be fine" meetings and communications - that they might not have had without the sanctions

This is what shook Flynn loose, correct?

Obama is a shrewd dude!

Am I reading this wrong?

if Twitler et al have been under investigation for years, even prior to his entry into politics. Remember the story about Obama meeting with McConnell and others and discussing what to do about the Russians interfering in the election? It was before he election and McConnel was reported to have said if Obama released that info he would say it was a partisan attack on Twiter. Do you really believe that would have stopped Obama? I always thought he didn't release that info at the urging of Intel. That the scope of the investigation was so large and went so deep that it had to continue. I also believe they thought Hillary was definitely going to win.
