I did watch this trailer, but I'm not going to watch more until I've read the book. Looks interesting for sure .

completely faithful to the book from what I understand.

I haven't seen the show and have no plans to do so. It can't possibly be as good as the book. I think you're doing the right thing, reading the book first.
