Trump will reportedly exit Paris climate deal, making us a rogue nation
The move could pave the way for other defectors — like Putin’s Russia.

President Donald Trump has privately told “confidants” he intends to leave the Paris accord on climate change, “according to three sources with direct knowledge,” Axios reported Saturday.

After persuading voters that America isn’t great anymore, Trump apparently intends to make sure of it — by having this country lead the effort to kill humanity’s last, best hope of avoiding catastrophic climate change.

Quitting a unanimous agreement by 190+ nations after a two-decade negotiating process would make us a rogue nation, a global pariah, like Vladimir Putin’s Russia. And, it could make Putin happy, as we’ll see.

While Trump tweeted out Saturday from Italy that “I will make my final decision on the Paris Accord next week,” German Chancellor Angela Merkel told reporters after the G7 meeting, “The whole discussion about climate has been difficult, or rather very unsatisfactory.” She added, “Here we have the situation that six members, or even seven if you want to add the EU, stand against one.”

Axios notes that “Although Trump made it clear during the campaign and in multiple conversations before his overseas trip that he favored withdrawal, he has been known to abruptly change his mind.” They add, however, top political appointees at EPA “were relieved” when Trump refused to join a consensus G7 statement reaffirming “their strong commitment” to the Paris accord.

While the White House’s attack on domestic climate action already undermines the global effort to avert climate catastrophe, we shouldn’t discount the importance of a U.S. withdrawal from Paris — especially if Trump teams with Russian President Vladimir Putin to undermine the whole global negotiating process.

In the absence of a Holy Grail clean energy invention that solves the drawbacks of Solar, Wind and other Clean Energy sources, we are stuck with fossil fuels. If a Holy Grail clean energy source is found and is cost effective and efficient, fossil fuels are deader than a DoDo Bird within a decade of that discovery.

No, I'm not happy in any way that he is pulling out of the climate accord. However, I know that the US (while being a heavy polluter) is nowhere near as bad as some countries (China for instance). Also, no amount of deregulation is going to stop the green market from continuing to grow. Basically, that is a tech sector that is going to continue pari passu with the rest of the world. I really believe that the foundation for green energy has already been laid over the past decade or so, and there is no going back. States and cities will continue to offer incentives for going green even if the feds do not.

Also, the rest of the free world accepts climate change as reality. US credibility has taken a nose dive (Merkel said so herself). We are the laughing stock of the world, so I'm not sure that anyone else is going to follow our example. I think this is just a case of wait three years until the next Democrat president and rejoin the other countries in the accord.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, two senior US officials familiar with his plans told CNN Wednesday, a major break from international partners that would isolate the United States in global efforts to curb global warming.

The decision, which will be announced this week, would put the US at odds with nearly every other nation on earth, who signed onto the 2015 carbon reduction plan. It would reflect a major reversal of the Obama administration's efforts on climate change. And it could trigger further efforts to erode the landmark climate accord.

to marginalize America. Take us out of leadership in the world, make us an anti-scientific weak cultist lead backwater.

Destroying NATO is part of it too. Trump is playing the part of a Russian puppet stooge magnificently.
