hosted two fundraisers for Cory Booker, and they all maxed out to his campaign.
I know Jared & Ivanka were Democrats, but we don't need Dems doing any favors for traitors. It's hard enough fighting the R's. Follow the $$...

To be clear, I support Democrats, but Cory Booker needs to choose country over money if it comes to that.

(6,443 posts)Malcolm Nance who actually worked in counterespionage called for this Friday and made the compelling case: this is a question of our national security being jeopardized and anyone else who did this would have had it immediately suspended pending further investigation. There's no reason to treat Kushner any differently, his prowess at fundraising notwithstanding.

It time to drain our swamp. Any DEM who doesn't believe that these people should have their clearances revoked are suspect of being in on money issues. I can see Booker being tangled up as well.

(3,040 posts)He most certainly has taken dark money. There is no way he became Senator without it. Also, he takes a lot of money from wall street. Plus he shilled for DeVos's charter school plan.

(99,708 posts)I would have said if the media accounts are true Kushner should not only lose his security clearance he should be prosecuted for lying on his SF86. As to Trump if the media accounts are true he should be removed from office and prosecuted for obstruction of justice.

(1,865 posts)& ANY one of the *elected employees* involved in this corruption & collusion & TREASON needs to be held accountable & prosecuted, republiker or Dem.

(47,209 posts)So while Maxine can go one about impeachment now, others have to be more circumspect. The whole pushback is that this is politically a witch hunt so the most ambitious do not need to be the leaders calling for it. That's got to be lead by those with closer ties to the investigation as well as lesser ambitions. I think they're waiting for more to come out and yeah it feels spineless.
I don't even know if it's smart, but I don't think he's protecting anyone in the WH.

(3,040 posts)I have to say that Booker is a Republican-lite that is good on social issues. He is on the record supporting DeVos' charter school program and he takes the most money from wall street. He is not someone that should run in 2020 for president.
Mike Nelson
(9,944 posts)...Ivanka and Jared were only posing as Democrats, to win influence. Also, their "moderating influence" on Trump is a total scam - this is obvious, by now. As far as Booker's point - going slow may be the only way, due to our limited governmental power. I wish he would more clearly position himself as a resistance fighter; if he does not, he won't be a successful candidate for higher office.

(34,131 posts)Once any question arises as to how it was obtained or the veracity of the person who has the clearance. The review process starts over with extra scrutiny and if the person is definitively cleared, their clearance is re-instated.
But we all know these are not normal times. The Republicans have made clear that national security is of no interest to them so long as they can continue to line their pockets and the pockets of their handlers.

(4,492 posts)Democratic primaries happen but they're few and far between. And Booker had one after Lautenberg's death. (I voted for Frank Pallone in that primary).
On the primary ballot, every candidate has a line under his/her name. You can put whoever you want but the coveted line is XYZ County Democrats (or Republicans) and whoever gets that line will be the first listed.
NJ's other senator, (Bob Menendez) who is facing corruption charges, will easily get all 21 county lines. If they can't primary a senator that's facing corruption charges, there's no way they're primarying Booker.

2. He never says "too soon" in the video. If anything, he avoids making a definitive statement. What he does in the video that is call for an investigation into everything.

This thread is little more than the bashing of a Democrat who maintains sanity.
Kushner should be investigated, and if the is found to have acted illegally he should suffer the consequences/

(4,897 posts)As soon as the government found out, his clearance should have been pulled. If a government civilian or contractor holding a security clearance at any level had attempted the same thing as Jared (attempt to establish a covert line of communication with a hostile foreign power), he/she would not only have their clearance pulled, they would be promptly frog marched in handcuffs out of whatever facility they were working.

Kushner was a lifelong Democrat and supported many Democrats before he switched teams to help his father in law.
Here are all his donations as reported by Open Secrets.

(2,897 posts)It never was. When folks start selectively pulling up Democratic fundraisers from 4 years ago to attempt to justify their logical leaps, fairness isn't even in the cards. Booker, being a young Black Democrat w/ star appeal, makes him a particularly juicy target for the purposes of clearing the field.
