Cory Booker thinks it's too soon to revoke Jared Kushner's security clearance, but Jared & Ivanka

hosted two fundraisers for Cory Booker, and they all maxed out to his campaign.

I know Jared & Ivanka were Democrats, but we don't need Dems doing any favors for traitors. It's hard enough fighting the R's. Follow the $$...

To be clear, I support Democrats, but Cory Booker needs to choose country over money if it comes to that.

Malcolm Nance who actually worked in counterespionage called for this Friday and made the compelling case: this is a question of our national security being jeopardized and anyone else who did this would have had it immediately suspended pending further investigation. There's no reason to treat Kushner any differently, his prowess at fundraising notwithstanding.

So while Maxine can go one about impeachment now, others have to be more circumspect. The whole pushback is that this is politically a witch hunt so the most ambitious do not need to be the leaders calling for it. That's got to be lead by those with closer ties to the investigation as well as lesser ambitions. I think they're waiting for more to come out and yeah it feels spineless.

As far as Booker's point - going slow may be the only way, due to our limited governmental power. I wish he would more clearly position himself as a resistance fighter; if he does not, he won't be a successful candidate for higher office.

Once any question arises as to how it was obtained or the veracity of the person who has the clearance. The review process starts over with extra scrutiny and if the person is definitively cleared, their clearance is re-instated.

But we all know these are not normal times. The Republicans have made clear that national security is of no interest to them so long as they can continue to line their pockets and the pockets of their handlers.

Democratic primaries happen but they're few and far between. And Booker had one after Lautenberg's death. (I voted for Frank Pallone in that primary).

On the primary ballot, every candidate has a line under his/her name. You can put whoever you want but the coveted line is XYZ County Democrats (or Republicans) and whoever gets that line will be the first listed.

NJ's other senator, (Bob Menendez) who is facing corruption charges, will easily get all 21 county lines. If they can't primary a senator that's facing corruption charges, there's no way they're primarying Booker.

A back channel to Russia (on its own) isn't enough to support this action.

This thread is little more than the bashing of a Democrat who maintains sanity.

Kushner should be investigated, and if the is found to have acted illegally he should suffer the consequences/

Going off half-cocked makes the left look as unhinged as the Trumpists.

As soon as the government found out, his clearance should have been pulled. If a government civilian or contractor holding a security clearance at any level had attempted the same thing as Jared (attempt to establish a covert line of communication with a hostile foreign power), he/she would not only have their clearance pulled, they would be promptly frog marched in handcuffs out of whatever facility they were working.
