In History, has the WH ever had a "War Room" to fight off investigations into it? Maybe Nixon did?

Just asking. I can't recall it. This is all getting so really weird. It's like the GOP is now fighting the USA.

Nixon didn't have a "war room" as such; he left his defense to the lawyers and was smart enough to STFU throughout most of the investigation.

But to say publically that you are at 'war' with justice and with the media (both of which represent the peoples' interests), is uniquely Trumpian (ie stupid).

It's as though there is a failed coup hunkered down in the White House.

invasion has occurred. I think most people expect major firepower in an invasion, but IMO that's not how it works in the 21st century. These shenanigans being investigated are very troubling. We are lucky there are enough checks and balances working to allow intense scrutiny.

What I also find troubling is TPTB in the GOP are so quiet for the most part, like this is to be accepted as the new norm. Imagine, just imagine if anything remotely like this had happened during Obama's administration. The imbalance is incredible, the titling to accept this as the norm by the GOP. Especially on the back-channels. WTF, is the entire nation supposed to be as ignorant as tRumps supporters.

What I think is going to be exceptionally interesting is when the financial trails are revealed, as well as tRumps tax returns and the like. There is not something just fishy smelling going on, it's an entire rotten fish. I also wonder how far this will extend into the GOP PTB.
