but he's notoriously cheap - everyone thought his former caddie Stevie had some sort of special exclusive deal but it turns out he made the standard tour rate (10% for a win, 5% for a top ten etc. with some sort of small payment for expenses during the week). All the women he was cheating with got nothing, he bought one a 6" Subway sub (no drink) that's it.

His golfing downfall wasn't just a coincidence of everything else going wrong. He was using steroids to allow him to hit a ridiculous amount of balls everyday and workout like a fiend. Human growth hormones for size, steroids for recovery. He crashed ala McGwire and others. Suddenly he had small chronic problems that became bigger. Classic scenario.

That is major surgery. Narcotics are usually prescribed. And I know several people who became addicted afterward, especially if the fusion failed. Maybe sleeping pills and narcotics.
