It bears repeating to tRump supporters: tRump seeks military base closures.

As CNN has re-reported within the past several hours, tRump's budget seeks base consolidation (BRAC), meaning closures for some military bases, with obvious negative ramifications it means to their surrounding communities.

You heard me right. Along with all the elimination of government funding for public radio and television and cuts of more than $1 billion to after-school programs, tRump's budget calls for military base closures.

So instead of employing people as bread and butter economics, he's advocating putting money towards bombs and weapon systems.

Mind you I pretty much grew up in Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Without the military that whole area would still be fishing villages.

I do think, in a more serious administration, base closures might be a good idea.

Our military budget is far too bloated. I'd love to see it cut down to a more reasonable size. Bases that have closed have often been turned into other things like university campuses and the like.

I hate that we are now the party of the bloated military just to shore up economies in small towns.
