Man carrying infant on motorcycle causing a stir on social media

A photo of a man riding on a "crotch rocket" motorcycle with an infant lying on the gas tank is making its way around social media. Facebook posts with the photo purport that the man was seen on SH 321 in Liberty County on or before the Memorial Day weekend.

Just hours after the Cleveland Advocate posted the original story Tuesday, numerous calls to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office provided investigators with a tentative identity.

"We are now expecting to confer with the district attorney's office to see if charges are appropriate," said Liberty County Sheriff's Capt. Ken DeFoor.

The captain said he is concerned about the child pictured in the Facebook post and hopes more information comes forward to aid in the investigation.

1. That kid does not deserve that parent.

The guy is riding without any protective gear - no helmet even. He may or may not survive road rash that would surely happen if he were to put the bike down to avoid an accident.

The kid wouldn't survive.

3. I don't see a man "riding" a motorcycle with and infant lying on the gas tank.

I see a man posing with a stationary motorcycle with the infant in front of him (on the gas tank). There is nothing to suggest that the machine is running or that the man intends to do more then get a picture of him and the child on the bike. There's plenty to deplore in East Texas but I don't think this is one to obsess about. Show me a picture or video of the man and child actually moving then I will say it is stupid beyond belief.
