This is about "ringless voice mail messages", and efforts to allow blocking them.
----------------------------
Slate noted that the Republican National Committee is among the larger entities pushing the FCC to allow companies to send voicemails directly into phone. To block such messages, the RNC has argued, may interfere with political organizations right to free speech.

If I don't recognize the number I don't pick it up. If it goes to voicemail/ answering machine I listen in if they leave a message which most don't.
But why should I have to pay for an unwanted call on my cellphone?

(1,387 posts)6. Typical. The likelihood of the RNC calling me is pretty effing small.
Can't remember the last time they bothered, probably '00.
But the dems would more than likely follow suit , if effective .
