I've been saying that attracting LGBTQ to far-right has been key to the neo-nazi alt-right movement, and now I ran into this article that explains it in great detail. It is a key strategy and the only viable way for far right movement to get elected in most western liberal democracies including the US. It is especially prominent in Britain, Sweden and Netherlands. Evryone should read it.

I had to take a break for family reasons so I have only been following general news for couple of months. Also, I felt relieved after Le Pen and Hoffer both lost so my faith in the future of western liberal democracies has been renewed.
It was a very therapeutic break but I am semi-back now because things are developing in (unfortunately) predictable fashion as I had previously summarized.

I can smell danger in the air with the way things are developing. One important aspect to always keep in mind that trump will stop at nothing to try to become authoritarian. These people never give up power regardless of any testimonies, courts, etc. He is there to fulfill Bannon's mission which happens to coincide with Putin's goal: destroy US government. These 'people' are not interested in the economy. This is not about it. Beleive it when Trump's ex-wife said that he keeps mein kampf book under the bed. He has been driven by this maniac idea secretly most of his life. He dreams of being like Putin, his role model. And he could never get over black president. Leaving NATO, UN, international trade agreements, all key elements of the new alliance with authoritarian and nationalistic regimes.

Don't count on republicans, RNC and likely other republican communication channels have also been hacked so Putin has lots of compromising material. This is especially the case with house republicans. One word and those emails will be released by wikileaks.

Why urgent? Trump and Putin are swiftly provoking a large scale military conflict in the middle east. I don't need to tell you that muslim registry is still coming, etc.

the unrelenting assault on our court system, free press, intel community, NATO, our dear allies, and institutions and traditions we hold dear. I MUST believe we can hold steady and recover our democracy again - I simply MUST.

I am so glad you took a therapeutic break - and sorry you have to "return" to this nightmare...and no, I have certainly learned not to count on any house GOPers, and their silence is one of the more bizarre aspects of this...war. And I wonder if some (many?!) Dems are also compromised, which of course, would just wrap this country up in a big red bow as it is presented to Putin.

You mentioned months back that you came here because your friends just didn't seem all that concerned with what was going on...I do hope they have come to see, at least a little, what is really coming down, and that you can talk to them more freely - I find the understanding of a few friends and family are going a long way towards keeping me...well, "breathing" -

Now, as to this article you have posted, well, hey, it's just nuts. It's so frickin outlandish and unacceptable that it can't possibly be true. HOWEVER - I have learned in the last few months that nothing and I mean NOTHING is too insane to actually be happening. Plus I trust you implicitly...and the sheer quantity of mind-bending crap as we've all seen lately has surely - sadly - opened our minds to believing the unbelievable now.

I hope the article is read and distributed by many, Alex!! - as you have done here...

Again, it is so good to know that you are "still around", my friend, and I hope this forum gets to see more of you now - I send so many thanks for giving us all the great benefit of your personal, and intensely honest, experience.
