Look, I understand that it's not part of their culture. But it's an internationally recognized gesture that a national soccer-team is supposed to know.
And how hard can it be? You just stand there. That's it. You could mentally go through your list of Pokemon during the Minute of Silence, whatever, all you have to do is stand there and do nothing.
A british imam speculated that maybe the team shared the religious belief that it's not a sin for a Muslim to kill a non-Muslim. Or maybe they feared being ridiculed in Saudi-Arabia for publicly grieving for the victims.

The SA team milled around whilst the Aussie team and crowd observed the minute of silence. (Two Australians were killed in the attack).
