(5,465 posts). . . the pro-Scottish independence maniacs, right? Since I think the idea of Scottish secession is very bad, I'm glad to hear they're losing steam.

(10,827 posts)650 seats... but Sinn Fein don't take theirs. They have 7. So effectively need 321 for majority. DUP in Northern Ireland have 10. So 311 Conservatives plus 10 DUP will get a majority in Parliament.
Broadcasters forecast 316 seats for the Conservatives.
So it will be a minority Conservative government, propped up by the DUP.
Unless DUP will support a rainbow coalition (Lab, SNP, LibDem, Plaid Cymru, Green, others)

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
