and multiply that by 1000 radio stations, and reinforced by a few hundred wannabes

that's why he got into the white house and why he's still there and why he will be there sucking off the country for a lot longer because progressive groups and the dem party continue to take our donations and do nothing about rw radio

1200 radio stations x 15hrs/day at $1000/hour are worth about $5BIL/year.

because there is NO organized effort by the main progressive orgs and the democratic party to do anything about rw radio they ensure a lot of wasted resources all the way around.

most of his support is based on a talk radio-based alternate reality that exists largely because the main tool for creating it gets ignored. gets a free speech free ride.

we don't even poll for the closest connection to trump outside of 'white'.

all the think tanks have to do is wait until progress looks eminent - like when a group of activists move legislation forward - and all they have to do is design a pr campaign to pump out of the local radio stations and suddenly the same made-to-order teabag dittohead trumpists get outraged and coordinated to stop it, usually based on lies and distortions.

whether stopping or passing legislation they have a major advantage merely because the left/liberals/dems ignore rw radio.

iraq war protestors should have included the radio stations that were selling the war.

OWS protestors should have included the radio stations that were egging on local govts and cops to clean them out.

we even let 88 major universities support 257 of those limbaugh stations. the major prog orgs could go on the offensive and stop that.

now we have trump because of that ignorance.

......more than ever before. I thought Judith Miller was the worst but this inept collusion with Trump has allowed a coup.

I have no words. But how dare they not drive home these stories throughout 2016.

I was using Google News like a madman before the election, and the stuff on Agent Orange that was reported was so negative and eve outrageous that I thought he would never be elected. Every gaffe and wild proclamation received plenty of critical press.

I don't know about TV coverage, because I don't watch that much. But the written press, in my opinion, is falsely accused. I don't blame the mainstream written media for getting him elected.

...to do so much on the side to find out the real news. It should be on the evening news. It should be easily accessible. That's why it's called "mainstream".

Not talking about the media habits of a few people in the choir who are here on DU.

I'm talking about the fourth estate doing its damn job. If they don't question power and expose abuse of power on a continuous basis, Democracy can't survive.

The country is in serious trouble and the media gave him cover all the way up to the election.
