I do not understand why Sessions agreed to testify

He was not subpoenaed. It's a voluntary appearance. If he refuses to answer questions by invoking executive privilege, it just casts a darker cloud on the whole thing.

Does he just plan to lie?

That's the message they want to get out, so they will.
He ought to be grilled about lying to the senate though- wish Franken could do that!

Sort of like a Japanese Samurai committing hari-kari by order of his lord. Although I have a small hope he will through Trump under the bus.

other than to enforce the Putin regime and agenda.

People still wont accept what has happened. We are all arguing about something that wont happen, cant.

Putin is in charge. Trump and his sycophants have no intention of allowing justice or the law to be the rule of the day.

Jeff Sessions requested that his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee be open to the public, according to the Associated Press. He is expected to be asked about questions raised by last week's testimony from James Comey.

Whatever staves off the day of reckoning, if even for less than a week, that's another couple of days they'll have to figure out something else or, the good lord below willing, some catastrophe overtakes the country and we all have to attend to that instead of chasing down these lying motherfuckers.

The hero is trapped above a cliff, enemies on all sides moving in for the kill. The only thing the hero can do is jump to certain death, but it buys him 10 seconds. Maybe an eagle swoops down, or there's a sturdy tree growing out of the cliff face?

He knows something big is about to come out and he wants to testify before so he won't be asked about it. I'm betting on a major leak to prevent that from occurring.

that the Mayflower Session's meeting with Kislyak may have been as a result of intercepted communications ! So, does Session now turn up and say

a) It never happened
b) Can't remember
c) Yeah I met him

potentially knowing that there is a recording of the meeting ?

Trump planning to fire Mueller might have given him confidence that Trump's coup will succeed.

If he lies for Trump under oath I'm sure he expects to be well rewarded in time.
