(47,209 posts)Why did you feel pressure? I support them but didn't feel pressured in the least.

(50,254 posts)I don't want to go into it in the thread.

(11,746 posts)You only need one person to start it.

(64,324 posts)Indivisible is about organizing and reaching out to people. It's actually kind of non-partisan overall. They copied much of their playbook from what the Tea Party did. If you're looking to hook up with some people in your home town and join and or form some support/political action groups, they are a good resource.
If you want policy advice, go to the DCCC/DNCC or your state/local Dem party offices.
And, of course, it is not exclusive to any other group, up to your ability and availability to pitch in.

(50,254 posts)What I do object to is people acting as though Indivisible is the only valid way to be actively anti-Trump.
In the place where I live(Olympia)we don't have any right-wing congressmembers to challenge at town meetings.

(64,324 posts)All too often, when people do that it's more about donations and contributions rather than actually providing input or opinions.
Hope you get that worked out.
Like I said, it's not the only sheriff in town. I respect your input around here and I'm sure you would have a lot to offer a group, but it does have to be your choice. To think else-wise would be un-democratic.

This seems so strange. For some reason it has left me grinning. I wonder if it's opposition to a secret handshake they have. Maybe a strange initiation ritual?

(50,254 posts)Indivisible can't be THAT much more important than everybody else.
I said it was a good group-isn't that enough?

(30,481 posts)Sounds like something you really want to be a part of. "Someone on the internet said" shouldn't cause this much angst over a group that is so good, wonderful and excellent.

(58,785 posts)Ken. I agree there are many groups. I love that congressional aids focused a nation on how to monitor and challenge their "representatives" through Indivisible, and the name, but as you say there are other ways.
Thing is, you didn't name any alternatives, just suggested people go find them, which of course made me also curious about what inspired this post.
Btw, the ACLU is forming citizen action groups, less (wonderfully!!) spontaneous and amateurish than the typical Indivisible citizen group, more training and commitment for those who want that. For just one other.
