What was it like when DU was down after the election, for those who were around?

I was very involved for several years after they stole the 2004 election and then busy with other things. I came back right after the 2016 election to discover it was down. What was that like for those of you who were involved at that time? Must have been nerve wracking.

DU isn't the only place like-minded individuals gather on the internets.

Many of us already had our own "camps" to rally in - to seek solace and commiseration.

Hack away, MOFO's!

And when it was down for several days I knew the perps did a thorough job of it.

that whenever a positive idea is stated (which obviously would help our side). You may not like the idea - but you wouldn't trash it totality immediately and would have tweaks or alternative positive ideas. But, not a barrage of "no way" "stupid idea" - extremely negative group pouncing to squelch. I notice this more and and more - and feel it in the gut that we have infiltrators.

our sorrow would have been worse or lasted longer (the utter initial shock of it all, that is).

This is the one place you want to be during and after an election and we could not communicate.

They are really great at keeping results posted in real time. Lots of informed commentary too. Plus a great deal of OPs posted here are original content from Kos.

I wasn't surprised to see DU get hit. the hatred for this place by some who used to post here is unlike anything I've seen. Crazy.

God Emperor all over.

It was worse than being here when Kerry lost after exit polls said he won.

I was in Alaska and under DenaliDemocrat. Still remember Britt Humes hangdog face turn to glee.
