Ivanka: can't do deposition because she is a high-ranking government official.

A Manhattan judge has ordered Ivanka Trump to give a deposition in a lawsuit by an Italian designer accusing her of trademark infringement and ripping off a shoe design.
The ruling was in response to her lawyers’ arguments that Trump should be allowed to skip the deposition in part because of her “extraordinary circumstances” as a “high-ranking government employee.”

In a statement filed with the court June 16, Trump said she had “no involvement in the conception, design, production or sale of the Hettie shoe,” the sandal at the center of the suit by Florence shoemaker Aquazzura. She said her only involvement was a “final sign-off of each season’s line after it was first reviewed and approved by the company’s design team.”

the judge did not buy her excuse.

At the link there are pics of the original shoe and of her rip-off. Seems pretty obvious.

at least in part due to high heels.

I was presenting to a hostile, all male board of trustees at a meeting. As I was being introduced, I realized that I had left my notes on a table across the room. I knew that I needed them and didn't want to look like I messed up, so I got up and began a canned introduction while I walked across the room purposefully, in long strides, in four inch heels.

After the meeting, the only other woman who had been present (as a scribe, of course) told me that my walk was pure power. "You should have seen their faces. They looked scared to death."

I'm older now. Clogs and flip flops are my shoes of choice.

"1988, Spy magazine described Donald Trump as 'a short-fingered vulgarian.' The founding editors of the magazine, Graydon Carter and Kurt Andersen, recognized Trump for what he was: the id of New York City, writ large—a bombastic, self-aggrandizing, un–self-aware bully, with a curious relationship to the truth about his supposed wealth and business acumen."

I have no idea why Spectator sports are a multi-billion dollar business, but just because I have no interest in the product doesn't mean it's not in society's interest to regulate their safety and contracts.

It would not matter if she was ripping off a flat sandal or a work boot or a clog instead. It's still a ripoff.

The original Ivanka Hettie had tassels! The shoes Ivanka is currently selling are actual version 2.0!

I just wasted 10 minutes of my life watching a YouTube video featuring a fashion blogger presenting a doctoral dissertation on the differences between the original and the knockoff.

Here's the original, by Aquazura, "Wild Thing", priced at $785

Here's Trump's first knock-off, named "Hettie":

However in Trump's defense, sort of, is that the article linked shows about 22 other knockoffs of the Aquazura Wild Thing shoes for a small fraction of the original price, as well.

Still, Trump must have realized there would be a copyright or patent problem because she also released another version, named "Hethal" (rhymes with Lethal?) that doesn't have tassels on the laces, and costs only $39:

Goes from boasting she is involved in every minute detail to claiming she has little to do with Company but lending her prestigious name, all in the blink of an eye.

Only her Daddy can save this country and make it great again because he is better at everything than anyone else but give him a break at his multiple failures because he is new and still learning.

She was described in an article as overseeing even the most mundane details of the building and design.
I suspect a more nefarious purpose which rhymes with honey wandering.

Well. she did brag about it. Good for the judge.

.....In demanding that Trump be deposed, Aquazzura’s attorneys quoted Trump as recently saying, “There’s not a shoe I’m not intimately involved with designing.” IT Collection shoemaker Marc Fisher Holdings is also named in the suit.

Other shoes sold by Trump’s IT Collection and named in the suit also appear strikingly similar to those created by Aquazzura. The Italian company claims Trump can sell them at a fraction of the cost because she has dodged the costs of their original designs. The Hettie shoe sells for $130 while the Wild Thing has a pricetag of $785.
