(42,862 posts)... with impunity? Is it against the rules to ridicule and scorn her in the same way we'd do with any Republican or Green Party member who smears Democrats?
Which camp is she in? Is she a Democrat that we have to respect? Is she an ally?
I need some guidance here.

(1,063 posts)some need to wake the hell up and see who is trying to sabotage the Democratic party and stop pandering to the Pink Rose petals. Are they Russian Bots or actual purists? Who can tell. But a fact was it wasn't Russians booing John Lewis at the Convention sooo....

(42,862 posts)Even though her wiki page describes her as a Democrat, and her personal web page suggests she's a Democrat... her actions CLEARLY indicate otherwise.
Maybe Skinner can check-in here and offer some guidance on whether or not people like Turner (who endorsed Jill Stein) get the same type of "protections" and "courtesies" extended to them as ACTUAL Democrats get.
Me.

And what is the difference between the Democrats & Republicans again? Oh, the difference between the fox & the wolf!'
Further, I don't know why we have to respect someone who clearly doesn't respect us and is, in fact, trying to harm and damage us. There was a thread today about fighting back, this would be a good place to start.

(58,785 posts)between the far left and far right in a brief humorous version said it's that the far right hates everyone else while the far left hates itself. (This, btw, was after explaining the many similarities between them.)
"Itself" in this case is everything the far left somehow see themselves part of. They're the people who, when conversation turns to a problem anywhere in the world, typically feel the U.S. caused it, all other possible factors dismissed.
In this case, they're on the left and American, so they despise America's left, but above all our Democrats and dominant liberals because, of course, everything is our fault. A basic frame through which everything is filtered.
Trust Buster's totally right about moderation, not just not a concern but usually not even possible. It's a big part of who they are. They always tend to believe we're about to be destroyed by some catastrophe and always believe that only THEY can save us so that moderation and cooperation in any way is always out of the question. As are humility, self doubt, and respect for others.
All presenting in 100 shades of gray, of course.

As a moderate Democrat I have no use for her. Now,she can go find a real job.

oneself with one and only issue, unwilling or unable to hold more than one complex thought simultaneously.
It's a great bumper-sticker, a self-validation that really allows one's own light to shine brighter by dimming those around him. Nice work.

(2,872 posts)Sorry for dimming your nightlight..
It is disappointing to see so many offended when single payer is brought up around these parts.. but this being a "democratic" site (as far as I can tell) - I will continue to do so..
Chevy
(1,063 posts)but to those who can only juggle with one hand one could see how it is confusing. Offended?? Hardly not in the policy but the tactic to smear and lie about Democrats motives to get a functioning and workable bill while ACA is under assault.
haele
(15,400 posts)Single Payer in CA was rightfully put on hold until there was a clearer idea on how to fund it. This Single Payer bill depended on continuing the current way the ACA Medicaid expansion is paid to the states, with some taxes to offset the cost of the additional insurance subscribers.
Since McConnell and Ryan are trying to gut Medicaid - and most likely Medicare, also, if they could - going forward with the bill as it is currently written would be catastrophic and bankrupt the State within three or four years should they succeed.
The funding has to be re-worked to protect Single Payer in California against the vagaries of the vindictive narcissists currently in power. The Randiod elite and the Dominionists want California to *fail* - and it's already been made clear that messing with our attempts to get Single Payer off the ground - something that will affect at least 8% of the state GDP - is part of their strategy.
And people outside the state Democratic Party who don't know (or pretend not to know) that are the ones who are going all "Corrupt Democratic Corporatist Establishment" about it.
This action on Single Payer has less to do with politics than it does to do with establishing the long-term sustainability of Single Payer. There is no magic "power of the people" wish-wand that can make this work. Believe me, I've made craploads of magic Lavender fairy wands - they do little more than make the air smell good while wishing for better things for everyone.
To make Single Payer work will take planning, and sometimes it will take regrouping and starting over.

(2,872 posts)I guess we'll have to wait & see how this all unfolds in Cali.. at this point R's are not going to give up on their "repeal & replace" campaign slogan.. they can't, their mind twisted constituents & campaign donors won't allow them to..
