(3,907 posts)the idea that it is lowering to his level, that is. Sort of came to the conclusion that enough is enough already. Deutsch even indicated MSNBC may not bring him back on the show after his comments. But he said he didn't care, he was going to say what he had to say.

(68,436 posts)Commenting on Trump's personal characteristics does seem beside the point as there are plenty of substantive issues to attack this stupid man.
On the other hand, commenting on his constant attacks focuses how detached Trump is from the presidency. It illustrates how he is so far off the map that he's no longer functional as the chief executive. Further, by counter-punching him where it'll impact him the most, the "Morning Joe" hosts are purposefully daring him to respond. It's a pretty good public relations tactic, actually, since Trump has no impulse control. It's inevitable that he'll take this cat fight further down into the gutter thus proving yet again how unfit, uncontrolled and debased he is.
It's good TV and, as you wrote, Squinch, it demonstrates "the fact that an unhinged man should not be running the country."
Squinch
(59,528 posts)little more. As another thread put it, it's like a WWF smackdown, and publicly daring him to respond is just another fake wrestling maneuver.
And saying "Trump is a fat pig" really doesn't accomplish anything. It's not like anyone didn't know it.
Wouldn't it be great if, with the currency they have right now, they would do a story on all the terrible things that Trump(R) is doing to you and me as we speak? Like trying to get our states to hand over our voting records to prove we are all voting fraudulently, or taking Medicaid away or giving tax breaks to billionaires by kicking millions off healthcare.
I read an article here that said that only 20-something percent of the country has any idea that Medicaid is in trouble right now.
Wouldn't it be nice if the media used all this publicity they're getting to talk about that instead of saying, "Trump(R) is a fat pig?"

(51,308 posts)I'm sick of all the threads here that show the shitgibbon in tight shorts etc., and I'm tired of all the threads announcing that he is ugly, fat, has small hands, a small whatever else and so on. We don't need to go there.
There is so much more wrong with him than his appearance.

(68,436 posts)likes to brag about, just as he brags about having "one of the highest" IQs and superior genes.
The criticisms that bother him the most are those that say he is stupid, incompetent, not "manly," not in charge, a loser, and unattractive. Criticizing him on those points will always provoke an unhinged response.
At this point his bizarre public rants and tweet snits are helping to expose not just him, but also the GOP, who demonstrate every time how craven and cynical they are.
The topic that upsets Trump the most is when his "wealth" is questioned. When he was roasted a few years ago, the only subject he wouldn't allow was any questions or jokes about his money.
Let's keep pushing this egomaniac! Keep hitting him where it hurts his fragile personality the most. Let's drive him crazy!

(25,049 posts)The GOP's Senate bill is on hold for the next week or so. Until there is movement on amending McConnell's bill, there isn't much to talk about.
Importantly, Trump's personal behavior seems to be deteriorating more and more every day. That is news and while it may seem a distraction from weightier issues, what could be more important than the stability of the US president?
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)That's what we all should talking about, but we aren't we are dealing with the daily distraction.

(25,049 posts)With Republican majorities in both Houses and Trump in the White House, single payer health insurance won't be discussed until Democrats regain some control in Washington. Meanwhile, even Republicans know that if they don't pass their "health" bill, our system will evolve to a single payer plan within the next decade.
Republicans taught us something important during President Obama's terms as president: Obstructionism can hinder actions by the opposition. Granted, the GOP dominated both Houses in that time but Democrats can use similar tactics to interfere with Republican attempts to destroy our country. Part of that strategy can be to diminish Trump's ability to function. If insulting him distracts and unfocused him, so much the better. If it shows the country what a dumbass idiot he is, I'm all for it. The man is a cancer on the world.
I recognize that there are deeply serious issues facing our nation. Keeping Trump out of the action only benefits our side.

(18 posts)Willie tried to hold him back, but he just got it all off his chest.
And yes, as a woman too, I'm sick of hearing this monstrous pig berate everyone's physical appearance
and harass reporters (such as the Irish one) based on appearance! Bizarre..bizarre... Why?
Trump needs proper care at a psychiatric ward --- and it's time that people stopped with the pleasantries
and the courtesies. He may be the president, but he does not care.
Why show respect to the vulgarian in chief? Nobody has disrespected and stained the Presidency like this
fool.
I am glad Deutsch kicked it off in this way to allow some of the other ones to get a bit more frank.
Enough is enough!
This man is sick, period. He needs to be treated for his condition.
Therefore, I hope MSNBC won't "punish"
Deutsch for speaking "truth to power," like they advertise.

(561 posts)So glad I got the chance to see this! Donny is right, enough with being nice, tell it like it is. Trump is anything but good looking, and yet he always gets away with criticizing other peoples looks. He's nothing but a bully, and it's time he took what he always dishes out.
After 9/11 Rosie O'Donnell gave 1 million dollars to the city and urged other celebrities to do the same, which they did, except for Trump...not a nickel. But it was perfectly fine for him to call her a fat pig, because she talked about his bankruptcies.
Thank you Donny Deutsch, you rock!

(6,309 posts)..... in what he said. Had he taken the quote "high road", it would not have made any impact at all with the people that needed to be impacted. Sure it would have appeased those who say he was lowering himself to Trump's level, but it would have done little to dissuade trumps supporters from being steadfast in that support. It's about time someone started using language that these neanderthals can understand. Trump is an ugly warthog disgusting piece of shit, and I proudly stand behind that description.

(100 posts)This is similar to taking in as a lodger a very dodgy character; at the first meeting he could be said to be 'fresh' and 'genuine' and 'uninhibited' when he burps and farts and interrupts, but What The Hell, Archie?
Then when he moves in, he takes over the flat and all its inhabitants, and every day becomes more and more irritating to the point of making people move out and friends won't come any more.
And then, seeing this as implicit approval, even the owner is horrified at being in the same flat, and takes steps to get rid of this person but he has good and ruthless lawyers, and a contract, of course, and law and precedent favour him.
Just a nightmare on my part; not personal experience. The US voted for him, and he will be very hard to get rid of. He knows what people think of him and ratchets up the malignity every week AND will continue to do so.
Imagine the USA in 4 or 8 years time; the question is, will he burn the flat down, or will the owner?
A valid question these days.
