(21,946 posts)It's not only unusual for Holder, it's an unusual time for a tweet. It appears as if he was thinking on it half the night before he decided to say something.

(42,770 posts)husband and I were in DC - pre-9-11. Knew there'd be a million people on the mall for the fireworks so we went and bought a cheap blanket and laid it out right underneath Washington monument - thinking if it's there later great - if not - no big deal. that night we waded through all the people and there was our blanket waiting for us. I know, dumb story...but life sure was simpler then. wonder do they even do the fireworks anymore? If O was still in, I would picture he and Michelle cuddling on their balcony watch. Assume Conald on his way to Mara Lago. Asshole

Holder wants them to be ready. And they will be.

Obviously Mr. Holder suspects something is going to happen or has information.
Asshole figures if he fires everyone...it all dies down.

(8,760 posts)He is totally irresponsible.
Seems inevitable.
Think about it. It's a long holiday weekend where people have their attention elsewhere and newsrooms have light staffing. If Trump is going to rip the Band-Aid, it would be a strategic time to do so. It would be Wednesday before people came out of their holiday fog.

Just found this Clint Watts tweet from this morning (he testified at House hearing so powerfully...um...a month and a half ago? Very reliable source - knows his stuff):

(1,148 posts)It's reasonable to assume he is doing so up and down the justice department. People don't always behave with the same character in the dark. Holder's shining a light--we see you, so don't do it!
And with his message to the DOJ, Holder is also acting as a witness to anybody who is currently getting the president's mob treatment--you're not alone, it's OK, stay strong.
I say my figurative prayers for the men and women in this monumentally screwed up situation.

Interesting that even his own people don't trust him.
