And when he attacked her, he attacked her in a way that suggested he was "cutting her" (the blood imagery), thereby making her "less than beautiful" than she needed to be in public.
He didn't call her a fat pig to be ignored. He deliberately "bloodied" her the way he thought would her professional prettiness the most, just as he did with Megan Kelly. That's a way of controlling something one finds desirable; the ability to hurt or destroy it.
