Romney: BLACK LEADERS OFFERED ME SECRET SUPPORT

" Mitt Romney told Fox News Wednesday that black leaders support him, but are afraid to say so publicly.

After his speech to the NAACP national convention Wednesday, Romney said he connected with black leaders in private and was assured that the loud and sustained booing he got for promising to repeal the health care reform law didn’t represent the feelings of all African American voters, even if they can’t say so in public.

“I spoke with a number of African-American leaders after the event and they said, you know, a lot of folks do not want to say they will not vote for President Obama but they are disappointed in his lack of policies to improve the schools,” Romney told Fox, according to a rush transcript. “The president has not been able to get the job done and people want to see someone would can get the economy going so I expect to get the African American votes, and at the end of my speech having a standing ovation was generous and hospitable and I believe we disagree on some issues like ‘Obamacare’ on a lot of issues people see eye to eye, they want someone getting the economy going.”

Polls show Romney has made no inroads with the African American electorate. He’s pulling single-digit support among black voters in the PollTracker Average. But by Romney’s account, it’s possible black voters are simply afraid to tell pollsters their real feelings.

In fairness to Tricky Dick, the phrase 'secret plan' was coined by a reporter covering the '68 campaign. But Nixon never denied the existence of such a plan.

Yeah the black leaders were told before hand by African American voters "Hey I'm going to have to boo Romney in public, but please reassure him afterwards that I didn't mean it"

They knew they could face a fight too. The NAACP is a peace loving group of people. And, they are southerners, known for their gracious hospitality. However, one knows not to push their envelope to far with the faithful constituency. Allen West and Dumb Dumb Cain can say anything they want because we already know their batshit crazy. Get black votes? I would have to see that to believe it. And, I do mean SEE them physically cast the vote.

If these alleged "black leaders" (whoever they might be) were to be identified, and then came out refuting Romney's statement, Romney has already covered himself by asserting that they are "too afraid" to admit they won't be voting for President Obama. And if the black votes Romney says he expects don't materialize, it perpetuates the right wing talking point that black voters voters are "racist" in support of President Obama.

he was pushing with a room full of African Americans when he boldly claimed that he will repeal Obama care. This was staged IMO. If anything, one can almost feel he was taunting the audience to become ugly or belligerent. A possible ambush to video record an ugly response by the audience.

The characters are different but the methods are the same. One need only think back at the ambush tactics used by weasels such as James O'Keefe.

Nixon, Harry Truman famously said, was "a no-good lying son-of-a-bitch who could lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in."

Mittwit Rmoney makes the Trickster look like a piker in the lying department, a fact which verges on science fiction.

I was just posting about the rethugs voting for the 33rd time to repeal the ACA and (good timing) the DCA called for a donation. They are tripling the donations they receive so I donated.

If the House voted 33 times on JOBS for Americans, like fixing the buckling roads, or the crumbling bridges, maybe we would see progress in our country. Instead the do-nothing Congress is wasting our tax dollars voting against a law that has been upheld by the Supreme Court!

They are idiots!!! We must volunteer, get people registered, and VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!! President Obama needs to win in a landslide and we need to get the House and Senate back in Democratic control so we can send them a very clear message of what Americans really want.

We have to overcome the money. This is almost becoming a war of good against evil.

They can't show how enthusiastic they are about your candidacy except in private - is that right?

Why does this sound like a story a nerdy guy tells to his buddies? Something like the cheerleader is really in love with him and sleeping with him on the sly, but pretends she doesn't like him while they are at school or accidentally meet up in public because of her social standing?

Yeah, I'd believe that one, too. I mean, wouldn't everyone?
