is regulated at the state level, including presidential elections. It actually makes more sense to prosecute violations of state elections laws; the trick is coming up with hard evidence as to what occurred in a particular state.
However, it is almost certain that evidence of financial crimes will be uncovered if it hasn't already. The most fruitful prosecutions are likely to come out of New York, where the Trump Crime Family has done most of its business and the courts have personal jurisdiction. Like most states, New York has statutes relating to money-laundering, fraud, racketeering and other financial crimes. I believe the NY AG is already investigating these things.
