(18,109 posts)the two of them at a long table -- opposite sides. And you can see Trump looking at Putin pointing back and forth to himself and Putin and then giving him a fist bump. Putin nods at him.
Now they are playing his quotes that he wouldn't have appointed Sessions if he had known he would recuse himself.
You're right, this is just out of control. Scary.

(6,916 posts)We just have to be ready.
45 is a traitor and a criminal. He's been getting away with it for years. He knows he's caught. He's like a cornered animal. He's going to fire Mueller, and he's going to pardon a lot of people. Get ready for it.

(6,882 posts)And we have nothing but next years midterms to try and regain some power. R's will do nothing but dismantle the republic until then.

(6,916 posts)But journalists keep repeating whatever 45 says, even when it's a lie.
"Adoptions" (w/o mention Putin restricted adoptions in response to sanctions)
"Sessions shouldn't have recused" (w/o mention Sessions lied to the Senate about meeting a Russian spy)

(24,435 posts)Mueller could be years away from indictments or he could be weeks away from them. I think he took over an investigation that was pretty far along, but it's probably gotten more complicated now. Would be good if this comes to term this year.

(6,916 posts)But we heard recently Mueller didn't know about the meeting in June with the Putin agent, spy, and money launderer. He found out about the emails when we all did, in the press.
Just recently this past weekend Mueller's investigators called Jr's lawyer to get the name of the money launderer.
I am worried the investigation isn't that far along.

(5,837 posts)Trump cannot directly fire Mueller, though. He can only ask Rosenstein, who won't fire Mueller and Trump can fire Rosenstein and go down the roster to find someone to fire Mueller or resign.
But Trump can't fire the rank and file DOJ prosecutors and investigators who aren't political appointees and FBI agents and investigators.
sharedvalues
(6,916 posts)Mueller has a plan in case he is fired. But when (not if) that happens, it's going to be a hot mess.
(Also: 45 can't fire rank and file DOJ civil servants. He can, however, order the head of DOJ to reassign them to other tasks, or remove their budgets and funding.)

(37,648 posts)The money laundering and all.
It takes time just to get financial records, then a lot of time to analyze them and track down info about them. And that's just one item.
Then they have to finalize everything, consult, come to conclusions.
Then they have to interview a lot of people, probably more than once, as new info comes to light.
It tooks a year and a half for Watergate, and that was pretty simple compared to this.

(41,098 posts)All they need is to to keep making inroads into voter disenfranchisement & soon they will have their state governments majority. The dems lost the House for a decade after the 2010 census when district lines were redrawn. How much more will the dems lose in 2020? Our republic is in a dire situation.

(6,131 posts)ballistic on this whole mess. It appears that tRump might be starting to crack under the strain. Things have not turned out the way he wanted and he seems to be cracking up. I suspect there will be few tears shed for him but we all need to hope that there is a plan in place for when tRump falls completely apart. I think it could be fast. The investigation is picking up speed, too, so things could be coming to a head sooner than we thought.
What a time to be alive! I watched as Watergate unfolded but who knew I'd get to see something bigger than THAT? As scary and uncertain as this is, we are seeing history like few others have seen it. Live on TV, right in our living room. 😳😜😵
