What Would It Take for You To Spontaneously Protest The Trump/GOP Regime?

Would it be Trump's firing of the Special Counsel?
Would it be the repeal of the ACA in order to finance massive tax cuts for the rich?
Would it be an effort by Trump to pardon people in order to thwart investigations against him?
What is the tipping point?

Because, for most, it was not the withdrawal from the Paris Climate agreement. It was not Trump's firing of Comey in order to impair investigations against him. It was not the creation of voting commission designed to come up with ways to suppress the vote and push the false idea that Trump did not lose the popular vote. It was not the appointment of Gorsuch for a stolen seat on the Supreme Court. It was not repeated disclosures regarding how Russia influenced the election perhaps at the behest of the Trump campaign. It was not the war on press freedoms initiated by the Trump administration.

Will we need to wait until Trump declares martial law? Until, we go full handmaiden?

Or, perhaps there is no tipping point. We have accepted this as the new normal. After all, we have it better than folks in North Korea.

that of the non-oligarchy population of Russia... or
A day in the life of a North Korean, Syrian, Iranian or an average Azeri....
Fuck...
Most people could not even handle a reality similar to that of an average citizen of Mexico...

Or even the inconvenience
Of only being able to purchase 10 gallons of fuel on alternating designated days ...
provided the gas station even has any to sell...
{Like in the 70's}

Or not being able to buy food because you can't access your account via ATM/debit card ...
Or because the supermarket is closed due to widespread power outages...

Then you may find cases of spontaneous protest

Or maybe not

because you fear going out of your home...
not knowing if you will be accused of unlawful behavior in order for law enforcement to justify seizing the cash you have on hand...
& the jewelry on your hand.

I seem to wind up only hearing about demonstrations after the fact.

As others have stated, many of us have been all along. What I find encouraging is that a growing portion of the "silent majority" are beginning to find Trump unacceptable. And that's key.

"uncommon solutions", normal measures may be insufficient for toppling the current "Trump/GOP Regime". If it ain't normal, conventional activities may not fix things. We won't know whether this is so or not until we get there, but the GOP currently shows very little inclination to preserve our democratic system.

Having said that, while I am personally ready for something drastic like a general strike, it seems obvious that overall public support at this point is lacking -- at least at a scale that it would actually have the desired effect. So in the meantime, we have only one choice -- and that's to plod on patiently working withing the normal system and measures (contacting our reps, working to build our voting base, etc.). .... I'm just not sure that normal activities/measures will save our democracy at this point and wish there were more like minded people out there.
