I cant believe it. I thought Spicer had sold his soul to Trump and would grovel and take the abuse like Sessions did. He had enough integrity left to just resign instead of being humiliated by Trump.

(14,574 posts)Sessions is a simple minded twit, but he saw what 45 did with the NYT for what it was.
He was trying to force Sessions to resign so that he could say he didn't fire him/meddle into the investigation.
Sessions knows this, and knows that if he resigns he looks more like an accomplice to 45, while if 45 fires him it looks better for him, like he was acting with integrity and trying to stand up to him and or he was a victim to him, not in league with him.

(22,050 posts)That's pretty astute, Cosmocat. I hadn't thought of that strategy but I was curious as to why AG Sessions didn't quit on the spot.
There's wisdom in your idea.
Have a good weekend.
