Pics & video - Rhode Island police officer Edward Krawetz kicks handcuffed woman in the head

Edward Krawetz, a police officer in Lincoln, Rhode Island, was suspended in March for 10 years after he reportedly kicked Donna Levesque while she was handcuffed.

Officer Krawetz was caught on video kicking Levesque in the face, while she sat on a curb, handcuffed, in May 2009.

He claimed it was self-defense, in January, during a battery trial, because Levesque kicked his leg, according WPRI-TV.

Officer Krawetz did not go to prison, but was ordered into counseling and given a 10-year suspension by the judge.

Indeed, until police officers arrest on the spot police officers they see commit such crimes, we can expect a steady diet of this sort of thing.

to convict criminals. So people watch and they care but they're ultimately helpless in a wash of disjointed images programed for sociopaths. Honor was put on the chopping block in 1973 and I can't see how we put the head back on the body.

But your post has more force, and I'm glad you posted it.

This guy has no business on a police force

A real badass.

His courage and bravery are remarkable.

The fact that his fellow officers didn't arrest HIM on the spot says all we need to know about the state of police forces in many places in America.

May karma kick him in the face. Repeatedly.

In out schools, a student can get expelled for bringing a bottle of aspirin; ZERO TOLERANCE.

But in our streets, armed men can brutalize hobbled civilians, and suffer no penalty.

There are only two solutions to this; mandatory removal from the force, or... well, armed civilian protection groups.

in the head. "Self defense" my ass. This pig belongs in jail.

I suppose the cop-fluffers will accuse us of being so terribly unfair. How many dead and injured people will it take to wise them up.

"Now, Krawetz, must attend an administrative hearing on whether he will be fired from his job."

I get the feeling he'll be allowed to retire early and collect his pension and benefits, that is if his peers are allowed to decide.

Look at this jackass go on about his business after he kicks her. So what that this woman mouthed off and tried to kick his sorry ass, he had no right to do what he did. I know this was in 2009 but geeze, watching this video makes me so mad. Does anyone know if this woman's family pressed charges on this sorry excuse for a cop?
