Dems win big in 2018 and 2020: How should we respond to Russia?

Lets say we do win in 2018 and 2020. When back in power, how should we respond to the fact Russia interfered in the 2016 election? I see a few options that could be combined. However, the basic options I see are

1. Do nothing but secure our elections.

2. Expand aid to the Ukraine.

3. Put more military forces in Europe to defend NATO

4. Use similar tactics (bots, leaks, etc) to undermine Putin among the Russian population

5. Expand NATO to include the Ukraine and Georgia

6. Economic sanctions

What should be done (if anything) to respond to Russia?

Launch a publicity blitz with the leaders of the various European countries: be personable and generous and friendly, be cooperative and engaged. Apologize profusely for the temporary and unfortunate occupation of the White House by the ignorant and combative previous President.

Second, go full-throttle into getting off of carbon. Carbon fuels are a very big part of Russia's economy because Russia's economy is comparatively small. Gutting demand for oil and natural gas will hurt them far more than it hurts us, particularly because we have more capability to go renewable. Disgruntled Russians will disrupt the Russian domestic political scene... let them deal with THEIR version of the Fanta Menace for a while.

Germany is not called the Germany.

But no matter what, we should not restart the war we started there.

We better make sure we can vote first.

thuglicans pulled this POS ACA repeal off with arm-twisting and bullying. What makes you think they'll give up on voter-suppressing Dems and keeping them from voting on 'roids in 2018? We don't have a Dept. of Homeland Security that even CARES if the ruskies are interfering into our elections. tRumputin said this "russia thing is a hoax." thuglicans don't want their useful idiot out because they want to destroy this country--even their OWN constituents who voted for them.

thuglicans run every apparatus of voting across this country from tallying to collecting votes, and what makes you think they'll give that up easily or at ALL?

thuglicans fight DIRTY and don't CARE if they know you know that they fight dirty. I've seen too many Dems saying don't stoop to their level, be the better angels. Well, not stooping is what's getting us ruskie interference into our elections and an ACA repeal. When they go low, we fly high and now might DIE (No health care).

They passed a bill to debate it. I think they'll probably manage to pass it this week, but they're not there yet.

The OP is asking a hypothetical about what we should do in this scenario. Not how or if we can get to such a scenario.

Pretty much anytime anyone brings up 2018 or 2020 there's always a flurry of "it won't matter" responses.

What annoys me is that people don't get the idea that it's ok to talk about these elections outside the scope of hacking or supression etc. while also acknowledging that those issues are very serious.

It's not unlike the "but we'll get Pence and he's even worse!1!" responses to threads on Trump impeachment, as if people here don't understand the rules of presidential succession in this country or what a dick Mike Pence is.

As to your OP, my answer is all of the above. It's going to be a big job cleaning up this mess.
