When I saw they were a Ralph Lauren design (with the "Polo" logo prominently displayed, naturally...), I was wondering where they'd actually be made. It's not as if a corporation like that has US factories any more. Might actually not be able to extract every penny of profit that way...

The last time I went shopping for a new suit I asked the salesman if there was anything manufactured in America. He burst out laughing before he could answer, and he was working on commission.

I'm disgusted by this outsourcing but not surprised by it, not one little bit.

21. Not true -- there are plenty of companies who could have done this

30+ that make and finish just performance fabric, many more who can make and finish "regular" fabric. They would have loved to have made this. Well-known performance socks are still made in the US. The US textile industry has been gutted, but is still here.

Canadian uniforms are made by ROOTS in Canadian mills, and they have a hell of a lot fewer mills and finishers than we do.

I live in Textile Country, and one of my best friend's family still owns a US-based textile company. She is the one who gave me the info used in my post.

The uniforms should be DUMPED. I agree with Reid, which is a red-letter day.
