I'm hoping that those beleaguered GOP supporting folks finally get their domes out of their rectums and vote this lying lady (whose ambitions do not include the welfare of her constituents) out of office. Bit I'm seriously doubting their capacity to do so.

Didn't she cry along with her disabled constituents and promise never to turn her back on them? Christ, what a shallow person.

One or the other. I miscounted, thought a Democrat had voted YES. My error. I thought Capito was a good woman, also my error, thus far.

Note to Sen Murkowski: Your party, the party of your father, no longer exists. The head of your party THREATENED you. BULLIED you. YOU held strong. YOU stood up to that. YOU don't need them. You proved that by winning as a write-in, an incredibly difficult thing to do.

Leave that party. Become and Independent or a Democrat. Leave them now that they have so clearly left you.

Your vote last night was the embodiment of strength. We know you have it in you. We know you're a genuine Badass.

We would welcome you.

I agree about Lisa having the most to lose. Collins has long been out front and consistent on this, which I appreciate. McCain clearly called out Republican tactics, which is a small additional plus.

But Democratic Solidarity in the Senate is deserving of the highest praise also.

I never heard it but trust me, he means "straighten her out and make her see the error of her ways". He believes he has authority over women and should influence our decisions.

But these idiots think Alaska is Northeast also so they probably just make up phrases that sound like something a folksy southerner might say.

The women were not allowed to contribute from either party in crafting the bill. But had Mazie Hirono been recovering instead of voting, Dems would have lost this fight.

http://crooksandliars.com/2017/07/cancer-stricken-senator-colleagues-where

Senator Mazie Hirono has not received nearly the attention as Senator John McCain, but she, too, has been diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer and is recovering from surgery.

but virtually nothing in the mainstream media. She is fighting for her life and coming to work and literally saving lives with her vote on this. If she wasn't there to vote No, who knows what would have happened (I understand the math of -1, but the strategy for the Repugs may have changed). She needs to be lifted up as a true hero!!!

I'm sure that contributed to toughening her up, and not to fear a reprisal from her party.

She also won against Tony Knowles in 2004 despite trailing in every poll for an entire year.
