Why, Fox & Friends...you look like somebody just walked over your skinny repeal grave.

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/07/young-people-are-out-there-celebrating-fox-friends-host-pity-party-after-obamacare-repeal-fails/

“You heard Chuck Schumer say we are not celebrating, yet you see some of the images out of Capitol Hill last night, in the middle of the night, people were taking selfies — a lot of happy faces,” said co-host Steve Doocy. “Elizabeth Warren outside taking selfies with supporters.”

Co-host Brian Kilmeade lashed out at the younger supporters celebrating with Warren and showed a fundamental misunderstanding of how health insurance works.

I laugh, too, that these young people are out there celebrating,” Kilmeade said. “Congratulations, you now will pay a fine or you have to have insurance. Congratulations, the healthy people are paying for the sick people.”

Co-host Ainsley Earhardt couldn’t resist joining in the pity party.

“Congratulations, because now people who need healthcare can’t afford it because these premiums are astronomical,” she said.

Well, yeah, dumbasses. That's exactly how insurance works. People who don't have car accidents pay for people who do have car accidents. People whose houses don't burn down pay for people whose houses do burn down. Insurance doesn't work at all unless there are enough people paying premiums (more people, smaller amounts) to cover claims (fewer people, larger amounts). Insurance in its basic form is almost pure socialism.

The model still fits. A large pool of subscribers pay their premiums for (hopefully) a few people who need to make claims.

Government regulations and competition help keep profits from growing into the obscene region. In the final analysis, sngle payer is just the ultimate insurance plan. The cheapest plan is to collect premiums from and cover everybody.

someday we can get a Medicare-for-all single payer system. My point, though, was that even a for-profit health insurance arrangement, like all other forms of insurance, cannot function without more people paying premiums than make claims. That's why the ACA included the requirement that everybody has to buy insurance, and it's why the GOPers' belief that for-profit health insurance should be left to the "free market" is ridiculous. There is no truly viable free-market solution for health care.

Surely these idjits have insurance for their home and car. Do they really think that their annual premium cost is what would pay for the total replacement of their house? Did they ever wonder where all that money comes from???

after voting for a plan that would TAKE HEALTHCARE AWAY from milllions.

What kind of asshats would do that, Fox News?

Boo fucking hoo to your premiums, which are nowhere near what they would have been under the GOP plan...lying to the Fox gullible audience as always.
